After watching the video a few times, we recommend printing out your pre-trip inspection study guide. Watch the video again, and follow along with your illustrated guide. Star any sections you’re still having trouble with, and watch the video again if needed.

Print out the checklist and do your best to memorize the pre-trip inspection. If you have access to a real tractor trailer, we recommend performing a pre-trip on it using your checklist as a guide for what to look for. If you don’t have access to a trailer to practice with, consider enlisting the help of a friend or study partner who would be willing to quiz you on all the parts you’ll be tested on when you take the CDL Skills Test at the BMV.
